Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS)
The KI6UKZ APRS station is a Yaesu VX-8R. It's mostly used for
intermittent, on foot operation. It is configured to beacon as
KI6UKZ-7 on 144.390 MHz. The radio can receive APRS messages. If you
are close enough to see a recent beacon, you can probably text me
using APRS.

Yaesu FT-817
The Yaesu FT-817 is a field portable HF/VHF/UHF radio. It's maximum
transmit power is five watts on the amateur radio HF bands between 160
meter and 10 meter. It also transmits on 6 meter, 2 meter and 70
centimeter. It's receiver covers 100 KHz to 56 MHz, 76 MHz to 154 Mhz
and 420 MHz to 470 MHz. The supported modes include SSB, CW, AM and
FM. It includes an internal battery. A LDG Z-817 is used as an
antenna tuner. The antennas are a forty foot Alpha Delta DX-EE
multiple band parallel dipole and a Comet SBB 224NMO. This system is
primarily used for fixed HF, VHF and UHF operations. It's
occasionally used as an oversized portable radio for VHF/UHF phone,
due to it's relatively large battery capacity compared to other stock
portables.

Yaesu VX-8
The Yaesu VX-8 is a rugged multi-band hand-held tranceiver. It
operates on 6 meter, 2 meter, 1.25 meter and 70 centimeter. It has a
power output of up to 5 watts. The radio is outfitted with the
optional FGPS-2 GPS receiver and MH-74 speaker microphone. The A band
provides continuous receiver coverage from 500 KHz to 999.90 MHz, less
blocked cellular frequencies. It's B band can be used for APRS
operation. Other features include an independent AM/FM receiver,
weather alerts, a built-in barometer and thermometer. The radio also
has a stereo headphone jack. In a limited way, this small system
offers integrated communications, navigation and sensor capabilities.
Icom IC-T90A
The Icom IC-T90A is a tribander HT that operates on 6 meter, 2 meter
and 70 centimeters. It transmits at a maximum of 5 watts. It has dual
VFO's, though only one can be used at a time. It also has a wide band
receiver, covering 495 KHz to 999.99 MHz less restricted frequencies.
Kenwood TH-F6
The Kenwood TH-F6 is a tribander HT that operates on 2 meters, 1.25
meters and 70 centimenter at up to 5 watts. It also has an ELP mode
that transmits at 50 milliwatts. It has dual VFO's. It's B VFO
provides continuous coverage from 100 KHz to 1300 MHz less restricted
frequencies. You can also monitor SSB and CW on HF.
Alinco DJ-G7 (T)
The Alinco DJ-G7 is a tribander HT that operates on 2 meter, 70
centimeter and 23 centimeter. It transmits at a maximum of 5
watts. It has dual VFO's. It's rugged and waterproof.
Alinco DJ-V27
The Alinco DJ-V27 is a single band HT that operates on the 1.25 meter
band at up to 5 watts. It's rugged and waterproof.
