My final rank was ET1/SS, an Electronics Technician with the rank of Petty Officer First Class and a warfare specialty in the Submarine Service. The emblems on the right are the Petty Officer First Class insignia, Submarine Warefare insignia and the Navy Expeditionary Medal.
In the decade that followed, I worked in information technology as a government contractor and civil servant, working mostly at Commander U.S. Pacific Fleet and U.S. Pacific Command. The majority of that work was in Joint Command and Control computer systems. Specific assignments included Solaris systems administration and Oracle Database administration.
